The UK Towns and Cities That Fracking Will Impact the Most
Despite claiming in 2012 that they were committed to renewable energy, the United Kingdom government has given fracking the green light to go-ahead in the UK despite widespread public concern.
Fracking is controversial due to concerns over its environmental impact and extending our reliance on fossil fuels at a time when we should be investing in clean energy solutions.
Whilst much attention has been given to the villages that will be impacted by fracking, towns and cities will also be affected. Indeed, 60% of the UK has the potential to be ‘fracked’.
Below is an infographic by The Eco Experts that shows the towns and cities most likely to be affected by fracking through nearby sites that have been drilled, approved or are under consideration.
