“Carmageddon,” the closing of I-405 July 15-18 to complete some much needed road work, has been all the rage. Resourcefulness, not rage, would be more appropriate.

Biking in LA may not be for the faint of heart, but is full of color and surprises for those who are brave enough to tackle the streets. The trick to bicycling in the City of Angels is to avoid streets that could leave you pancaked in the first place.

LA’s second CicLAvia is this Sunday, April 10, from 10am to 3pm. The route starts in the “Hell-Mel” area of LA (Heliotrope and Melrose) and continues to downtown Los Angeles.
Capital Bikeshare has 1100 bicycles available for short- and long- term rental in DC. They are in tourist heavy areas like the national mall, are in chic neighborhoods like Dupont Circle, and are often placed by Metro stations.
