Silver Lake Residents, Beware!

don't let me lick anything on the ground . . . walking on Sunset Blvd is hazardous enoughI would like to think that the bureaucrats in LA are careful about pest control, but I'm dubious . . . this is from a neighbor: I saw a guy in a jeep from the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District in the neighborhood twice in the last two weeks spraying near the curbs and gutters on your and my streets to prevent mosquitoes. I got a flier from him but haven't called yet. Their website is GLACVCD.Org. I want to know WHAT they are spraying, which I haven't found on the website. Anyway, I wanted to let everyone with pets know so they make sure the pets don't lick up any standing water on walks. I try to never let the dogs drink from the ground as there may be brake fluid or motor oil, etc. in the water. But, now I'm really watching more closely. My dog always tries to lick up anything wet on the ground... So you would think with all the issues of toxins ending up in our ocean, the particulates we breath from our dirty air, and old buildings with asbestos and whatever else that makes me shudder, the City of LA would be careful about this . . . I'll keep you all updated . . . and as my neighbor said, don't let your dogs (or kids!) lick anything!
