Are you an engineer, fully engaged in green tech issues, and often walk into a room full of men? Are you interested in eco-fashion? Perhaps you are a graduate student wanting to enter this space. Or maybe you have a passion for electric vehicles. And you probably aware that many of the green revolution has its roots in women like Rachel Carson.Have I got the conference for you, September 1-2, in Pasadena.
Spearheaded by Jaime Nack of Three Squares Inc., The Women in Green Forum will bring together an international audience of women focused on environmental issues, including academic researchers, business experts, energy analysts, and technology developers. The WIGF will also appeal to regulatory agencies involved in developing the policies and legislation which will further the development and propagation of green technologies on our roads, in our homes and at our schools.
Having enjoyed the privilege and inspiration of working with Jaime, I know this will be a fantastic event with a great gathering of professionals.
So far the two day event looks like this:
The first day will kick-off with an overview of women’s impact on the environmental industry with speakers representing Fortune 500 companies, leading academic institutions, and successful small businesses. As a backdrop to the sessions, the Expo Hall will provide attendees with exposure to the latest in green products and services. Coffee breaks and networking activities will take place in the Expo Hall in order to encourage dialogue between attendees and the wide range of exhibitors.
The second day will feature a variety of breakout session tracks by industry segment, including: Green Building, Consumer Products, Green Schools, Eco Fashion, Clean Transportation, Alternative Energy, Organic Food, Community Initiatives, Recycling and Waste Diversion and Green Events. The sessions will feature companies and organizations making key progress in these areas. The afternoon will focus on the “Future Leaders” and help open the doors to women who are interested in careers in green fields. There will be roundtables where attendees can sign up to engage in small group discussions about various career tracks.
You can register for WIGF here. And no, of course this is not only open to women. I sure plan on being there.
GreenGoPost.com plans to keep you updated on this event, and you can also join the WIGF LinkedIn group here.
