Conservation International and the International League of Conservation Photographers have teamed together in Los Angeles to present an exhibit, “Fresh Water:  The Essence of Life” from Marcy 29 to May 8.

The exhibit features 17 of the world’s most accomplished and award winning photographers.  The photos display the effects water scarcity already has on the planet, from Brazil (pictured above left, click to enlarge) to Mali (below).

Conservation International’s professionals have long insisted that countries must manage water more carefully, and that within 15 years, two-thirds of of the world’s nations will not have reliable supplies of fresh water.

The photos are breathtaking and yet disturbing.  This exhibit is a great reason to spend a few hours in Venice.
