In One Picture: Why Maine Rules Autumn

Fall colors will soon cloak New England, and while Vermont scores the most attention for its incredible natural beauty, the neighbors to the east, New Hampshire and Maine, provide their visitors quite a show as well.  The onset of October rudely reminded me that it has been almost a year since I visited the region for a Ben & Jerry’s event.  I was lucky enough to fly in a few days early and travel as far as Farmington, Maine, before I had to actually work.

The scenery along Maine State Routes 2 and 17 from Farmington to the New Hampshire border was breathtaking.  Towns like Mexico, Rumford, and Bethel were great places to grab a quick coffee and take a few shots as I returned to Burlington.  This burst of autumn leaves color under a bright blue Maine sky caught my eye when I recently thumbed through my photos.

Autumn in New England is an experience not to be missed.
