I may not be at Salvador da Bahia’s Carnaval this year, but it sure is fun watching it from afar. Daniela Mercury looks incredible in her short white, black and blue frock and those matching stilettos are sublime. To score an idea of what Carnaval 2013 in Salvador is all about, check out her performance of “Rapunzel” below. This Carnaval route in Salvador is the best: you follow the trio (a massive jerry-rigged truck) along the Barra-Orinda route along Avenida Oceânic. Camarotes, or dance floors, overlook the route while the Atlantic Ocean beckons to the right. My experience there in 2010 was fantastic, so I am doing everything I can to keep track of the festivities in Brazil from thousands of miles away.
