One of the highlights during the holiday season here in the
San Joaquin Valley is
Christmas Tree Lane, which extends for many blocks along
Van Ness Boulevard in Fresno’s Old Fig Garden. For 90 years residents on this street have decked out their homes in lights and amazing displays. Last night was the opening of this annual tradition, and the street was thankfully closed to traffic, open only to pedestrians, baby strollers and canines. The only other night where Christmas Tree Lane is closed to cars this year is on Tuesday, December 11th; if you happen to be in the area, it is worth taking a walk along what I think is one of the most beautiful streets in the U.S.
